Market hubs

Each page below covers the housing characteristics of that part of the area and the work that actually comes up there — not a list of city names. Communities are described inside the page they belong to.

Tampa

The broader Tampa market: heat, humidity, older bungalows beside newer builds, and the repairs and installations both bring.

South Tampa

Older housing stock renovated in stages: Palma Ceia, Hyde Park, Davis Islands, Beach Park, Sunset Park, Virginia Park and the Bayshore area.

New Tampa / North Tampa

Larger, newer homes in gated communities — Tampa Palms, Hunters Green, Arbor Greene, Cory Lake Isles and K-Bar Ranch.

Lutz / Land O' Lakes

Single-family communities north of Tampa, from Cheval and Heritage Harbor to Bexley, Connerton and the Lake Padgett area.

Wesley Chapel

Newer construction where owners are gradually personalizing the house — lighting, fans, mounting, smart controls and outdoor space.

Riverview / Brandon

Southeast Hillsborough for both homeowners and single-family rental owners: Riverview, Brandon, Valrico and Apollo Beach.

Strong markets, not a boundary line

Some parts of the area come up more often than others. South Tampa is a long-standing homeowner market, and Riverview is where the single-family rental work is most concentrated. That density is useful — it makes scheduling and response time better — but it is not the edge of the map.

Rather than publishing a page for every community in Hillsborough and Pasco, this site keeps a smaller number of pages that are genuinely about the homes in each area. Neighborhoods are named where they belong: Palma Ceia and Davis Islands inside South Tampa, Tampa Palms and Hunters Green inside New Tampa, Cheval and Bexley inside Lutz and Land O' Lakes. Carrollwood, Westchase, Odessa and Temple Terrace are served as well, covered within the Tampa page.

Areas served and projects completed are different things

Every area named on this site is genuinely within the service territory. That is a separate claim from having completed work in a particular neighborhood, and this site keeps the two apart on purpose. Real completed projects are shown on the projects pages with the area they were done in. Nothing there is invented to fill a map.

Frequently asked questions

What areas does Hands On Home Improvement serve?

Hands On serves homes and single-family rental properties throughout the greater Tampa Bay area, with the most activity in South Tampa, Tampa, New Tampa and North Tampa, Lutz and Land O' Lakes, Wesley Chapel, and Riverview, Brandon and Valrico.

Is Hands On only a South Tampa company?

No. South Tampa is an important market, not a boundary. The service territory reaches north into Lutz, Land O' Lakes and Wesley Chapel and southeast into Riverview and Brandon.

Does rental maintenance cover the whole territory or just Riverview?

Hands On Rental Care covers single-family rentals across the greater Tampa area. Riverview and 33578 have the highest concentration of properties, which is why they have their own page, but the service is not limited to that corridor.

How do I find out if my address is covered?

Call or text 813-321-9740 with the address and a short description of the work. If it is outside the territory you will be told directly rather than left waiting.

Do you work in older homes as well as newer neighborhoods?

Yes. The Tampa area mixes older bungalows and block homes with large amounts of newer construction, and each brings different wall material, wiring age and outdoor exposure — all assessed at the house rather than assumed.
